mission to actively participate in improving the quality of life
in the community.
The goal is to ensure that each cancer patient has a holistic approach
to wellness enhanced by fitness to regain range of motion, strength,
and balance.
This Yoga class focuses on dealing with
the various aspects related to Cancer and its treatment. It is also intended to help participants regain and improve range of motion and overall health while

September 19 - 21, 2008
Yoga Dome at Earthdance
Black Oak Ranch Hwy 101 Laytonville, CA 95454
http://www.earthdance.org/sf/
Executive Producer
Earthdance, the Global Dance Festival for Peace has grown to become the world's largest simultaneous music and dance event. Founded in 1997, with 22 cities and 18 countries participating, Earthdance events have occurred in over 240 cities in over 50 countries, with locations ranging from the club-lands of New York to the rainforests of Brazil. Every year, in alignment with the International Day of Peace, over 200,000 people unite in dance with hundreds of thousands more joining online in support of global peace and humanitarian aims. The defining moment of each Earthdance event is a synchronized link-up, (4pm Pacific Standard Time) when every event around the world plays a specially produced song called "The Prayer for Peace" at exactly the same time.
Earthdance has been described by the music industry as the "Dance Aid" for the new millennium. The aim of the event is to bring together global communities to create a synchronized global festival and dance event to help fund humanitarian causes and develop an environment of peace throughout the global community. Responding to an increasing tendency to have Yoga at popular festivals, Antonio organizes a Yoga dome at Earthdance. The dome will present a full Yoga schedule featuring two teachers from selected studios including night performances and special events. The idea is to present classes and activities addressing the core message of the Festival while representing the variety of offerings currently available in the field.

The Degriefng practitioner can provide guidance, supportive verbal communication, nurturing emotional attention, make recommendations and integrate the use of appropriate complementary therapies and the personal presence needed to assist clients in coping with grief in a healthy way.

Yoga for Grief Relief
California Institute of Integral Studies
1453 Mission Street, San Francisco, California, 94103
As the Holiday Season approaches and darkness overshadows the light, the pressure for belonging increases, the absence of our dear ones become more apparent and grief surfaces our hearts and bodies. This workshop provides a few techniques to promote the transformation of grief, so that as the ‘wind mill’ (featured exercise) does, the forces of the unknown are used to transform the seeds of grief into material for our nurturance. We’ll do this by learning techniques that address the delicate endocrine mechanisms responsible for the grief reaction, by promoting the movement in those muscles that are mostly affected by grief, and by analyzing the possibility of a ‘detached attachment’ as proposed by the ancient teachings of Yoga.
